Chester Town Hall
Chester’s buff and pink sandstone Town Hall, with its tower and spire rising to the height of 160 feet, was completed in 1869. Designed by William Henry Lynn of Belfast, it is a High Victorian reinterpretation of the 13th century Cloth Hall at Ypres in Belgium. On closer inspection, the Town Hall is just as awe-inspiring and a testament to its architectural era with beautiful vaulted ceilings, hand-carved stonework and wooden panelled rooms, available as multi-use event spaces.
