The British summer made an appearance for the semi-finals of the Boodles Roodee Challenge Cup on Friday 8th September. The perfect weather for polo, visitors flocked to Chester Polo Club to see the four teams battle it out.
Guests in the Hospitality Marquee were welcomed with a glass of Laurent-Perrier and served a three-course lunch of slowly cooked ham hock, served with a lightly pickled vegetable salad, followed by roast chicken with herb gremolata with a cassoulet of haricot beans, brassicas, and root vegetables. To finish there was a classic glazed lemon tart, topped with mascarpone cream, broken meringue and berry compote. Over in the Tipi a delicious BBQ lunch was enjoyed by guests.
After lunch, two thrilling games lead to a triumph for team Controlled Solution Group and team Laurent-Perrier. Between chukkas, guests were welcomed onto the pitch to take part in the polo tradition of stomping the divots.
